Program 2053 Olympic Weightlifting Skill Development Program
$15.00
Olympic Weightlifting Training Program, 3 Days per Week, 5 Weeks, designed for Skill Development.
Description
This 5-week training program, a printable 27-page PDF, is designed as a short-term skills development program for Olympic Weightlifting. It will suit athletes who have completed a basic introduction to the Olympic lifts but need to work further on technique development.
The training intensity is reduced to allow for a greater focus on technique work. The program provides an interesting variety of skill drills and exercises, each with coaching advice on how to perform them.
The exercises and skill drills in this program can be found in the Exercise Library (see main menu) on this website.
The method of programming involves the use of Perceived Rating of Exertion (PRE) to guide athletes in the effective intensity limits (heaviness of the bar). An 8-point PRE chart is included in the program but you can also find in the post “Intensity in Olympic Weightlifting: How to prescribe” on this website. The program also includes a volume guide that describes the recommended pattern of sets and reps for each exercise.
The style of programming is effective and has been implemented with a great many athletes. You will find the instructions given is a distinguishing feature of this skills development program.
Instructions for accessing support given in the program.
